In this ER role, you’ll provide direct, evidence-based nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in an acute, high-acuity setting. The assignment runs in a 12-hour night shift pattern with a biweekly cadence that includes coverage for essential ED operations.

Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive ED nursing care, including triage, initial assessment, continuous monitoring, and timely interventions
- Administer medications, establish and maintain IV access, obtain specimens, and utilize telemetry for rhythm assessment
- Respond to emergencies, initiate ACLS protocols, coordinate with the rapid response and code teams, and reassess patient status continuously
- Document assessments, treatments, medications, and patient responses accurately in the electronic record; ensure compliance with hospital policies
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (physicians, respiratory therapists, social work, and others) to develop and adjust care plans; provide patient and family education
- Support discharge planning and safe transition of care, including instructions and referrals as appropriate
- Maintain infection control practices, patient safety standards, and equipment readiness in a high-demand environment
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts (required at submission)
- Experience: 2+ years telemetry/telemetry-experienced ED nursing; 1 year of prior travel nursing experience
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC; PALS or ENPC (equivalency) accepted
- Flu vaccine required during onboarding
- Additional requirements: MA license verification at submission; 6-month minimum separations from prior roles to be considered (perm, per diem, or contract)
- Testing: Telemetry test administered on first day; pass/fail outcome may affect assignment continuation
- Scheduling: Available for 12-hour night shifts; every other weekend; may be required to float to another MA location if necessary
