Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services to residents in a skilled nursing setting under the established plan of care.
- Assess, re-evaluate, and document resident progress; contribute to treatment plans and adjust interventions as needed.
- Implement therapy plans, select appropriate modalities and equipment, and monitor safety and infection control practices.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy) to ensure coordinated care and communicate changes to the supervising therapist.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in patient records and ensure compliance with privacy and regulatory guidelines.
- Agencies must have NM caregivers account as part of the assignment requirements.
Requirements
- Active COTA credential and license/registration as applicable in New Mexico
- Ability to work in a skilled nursing facility environment
- Experience performing general COTA duties with adult and geriatric populations preferred
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Must have NM caregivers account as specified in job notes
