Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive speech-language pathology evaluations for patients in acute care and skilled nursing settings.
- Develop individualized treatment plans addressing communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing skills; implement evidence-based therapy.
- Monitor patient progress, modify treatment plans as appropriate, and document outcomes in medical records.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds; collaborate on discharge planning and caregiver/patient education.
- Ensure adherence to safety, infection control, and facility policies; maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Active state license to practice Speech-Language Pathology in West Virginia or eligibility for licensure
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Certification per professional standards (ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or equivalent)
- Relevant clinical experience in acute care or skilled nursing settings is preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a skilled nursing facility environment and demonstrate strong teamwork and communication
