Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ER) | Travel assignment in Potsdam, NY
Emergency Department RN for a combined adult/pediatric unit at a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center. Start date: May 4, 2026. Duration: Weeks. Weekly pay: $2,772–$2,977 per week. Shift: Nights, 4x12-hour schedule. This travel opportunity requires ED competency in a high-acuity setting, with 1:5 patient ratios and 24-hour orientation. COVID-19 vaccination is not required.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered care for adult and pediatric ED patients, including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Conduct rapid assessments, triage, monitoring, and ongoing observation; initiate treatment plans in collaboration with the ED team
- Manage trauma and neurological emergencies, including neuro-trauma, strokes, and spinal injuries; perform airway and respiratory management as needed
- Administer medications, IV therapy, vasopressors, blood products, and procedural sedation; establish and maintain IV access and central venous access as required
- Perform procedures such as IV starts, central-line care, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing; support rapid sequence intubation and airway management when indicated
- Document care accurately in EPIC, coordinate with respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and other multidisciplinary staff; communicate using SBAR protocols
Requirements
- NY nursing license in hand and active to submit
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (required)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years ED experience; trauma center experience preferred
- Education: Nursing degree from an accredited program (noted requirements based on input)
- Eligibility to work in a high-acuity ED environment; ability to float within the ED as needed
- COVID-19 vaccine: Not required
- Availability to work nights and to participate in a 36- or 48-hour weekly schedule
