Travel Radiology X-Ray Tech Job
X-Ray Technologist – Radiology, Travel assignment in Rochester, New York, starting May 4, 2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $2,599 to $2,661 with 8-hour shifts. Responsibilities
- Verify patients’ identity and review physician orders before initiating x-ray procedures
- Use x-ray equipment to capture radiographic images according to written orders
- Explain procedures to patients and address questions; assist with mobility as needed
- Position patients appropriately; ensure safe handling and minimize radiation dose
- Maintain patient status awareness and tailor imaging considerations to age-specific needs
- Produce diagnostic, high-quality images for radiologist interpretation; ensure accurate labeling
- Notify management of damaged or malfunctioning equipment; maintain PACS workflow
- Verify patient information in electronic systems, confirm appropriate exam, and apply dual patient identifiers
- Maintain accurate records and ensure images are correctly sent to PACS; follow unit-specific comments
- Support OR imaging as needed with C-arm/O-arm equipment; participate in on-call coverage as scheduled
Requirements
- Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology
- ARRT certification (registered radiologic technologist)
- New York State license or eligible to obtain prior to starting
- Minimum 2 years X-ray Technologist experience
- Level 1 trauma center experience
- OR imaging experience and recent use of C-arm/O-arm preferred (within past 8 months)
- Ability to move and lift patients; ability to stand for extended periods
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong written and verbal communication
- Compassionate, patient-focused demeanor; proven ability to work well in a team
- Ability to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
Education
- Formal training from an approved School of Radiologic Technology; active ARRT certification; eligible or current NYS license
