Responsibilities
- Provide direct perioperative nursing care for a diverse OR caseload, including orthopedics (total joint/trauma), neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic cases
- Prepare the OR, assist with patient positioning, instrument handling, and maintaining sterile technique
- Administer medications and blood products as appropriate; monitor patient status across perioperative phases
- Adhere to universal protocol (time out) and infection control practices; support specimen handling and labeling
- Document perioperative care in the designated electronic medical record (EPIC) and ensure accurate charting
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV team, PT, RT, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response, Transportation, Unit Secretary, Interpretation Services); participate in patient safety initiatives
- On-call requirements; float to other units as needed to cover patient care; maintain readiness for rapid case turnover

Requirements
- NY RN license in hand to submit; pending licenses not accepted
- BLS certification required; CNOR preferred
- Minimum 3 years OR nursing experience; travel experience required; unit does not accept first-time travelers
- EPIC charting experience required
- Phlebotomy and IV placement competency for all RNs
- Ability to work in a high-demand OR environment with diverse specialties; floating required
- Knowledge of perioperative care across bariatric, laparoscopic/robotic (Da Vinci Xi), vascular, thoracic, neuro, ortho, GYN/urology, ENT/head & neck, plastics/microvascular, and colorectal procedures
