Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients in the ICU according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, and coordinate care with other disciplines.
- Apply critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making in planning and delivering care.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in the medical record with accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other team members to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
- Provide patient and family education as appropriate and participate in ongoing quality and safety initiatives.
- This position is represented by CNA.
Requirements
- ICU nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work night shifts (12-hour nights) and maintain performance in a high-acuity environment
- Active RN license in California or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a critical care setting
