Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients per physician orders, including assessment, treatment, and monitoring.
- Administer prescribed therapies (nebulized meds, bronchodilators, humidified gas) and manage airway clearance therapies as indicated.
- Oversee patients on mechanical ventilation and noninvasive ventilation, adjust settings per protocol, monitor responses, and document outcomes.
- Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, humidification, and other adjunct therapies to maintain airway patency.
- Collect specimens and assist with arterial blood gas analysis as needed; document all treatments and patient responses in the chart.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the broader care team; participate in rounds and contribute to care planning.
- Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment; adhere to infection control practices and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with licensure, accreditation, and facility policies.
Requirements
- Active California Respiratory Therapy License (RCP)
- BLS certification; ACLS required; NRP preferred
- Minimum two years of recent experience in respiratory care
- Ability to work the day shift and participate in a travel assignment; willingness to relocate to Fort Bragg, CA
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
