Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for oncology patients or an assigned group of patients according to the nursing process and standards of care.
- Assess patient status, develop and implement individualized nursing care plans, and monitor responses to interventions.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, monitor for adverse effects, and manage symptoms.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff across levels, providing guidance and ensuring safe, effective care.
- Coordinate care with physicians, pharmacists, and other health disciplines; document progress and update care plans as needed.
- Maintain patient safety, quality of care, and compliance with policies; use critical thinking and independent judgment in clinical decisions.
Requirements
- Active RN license to practice in California (or as required for a travel assignment)
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification
- Oncology nursing experience preferred; minimum 1 year of relevant acute care or oncology exposure
- Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts in a hospital setting
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills; ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
