Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to ED patients across ages from neonates to geriatrics in a 38-bed ED with ~127 visits per day
- Perform triage, initial assessment, and prioritize care using established protocols
- Manage airway, ventilation, monitoring, and administer medications, IV therapies, and vasopressor support as needed
- Interpret dysrhythmias, assist with procedures (e.g., central line care, chest tube care, procedural sedation), and administer blood products
- Lead stroke/STEMI protocols, collaborate with Respiratory, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, Interpretation, and Unit Secretary teams
- Document in EPIC, ensure patient safety, provide patient and family education, and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Support behavioral/psychiatric holds and escalate to appropriate services when needed
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs, within the ED or affiliate hospital network
Requirements
- Active RN license to practice in Missouri (or eligibility per state rules); compliance with state licensure requirements
- Minimum 2 years ER RN experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS (BCLS), NIHSS, PALS required; CPI and TNCC preferred
- Travel assignment; first-time travelers not accepted
- Ability to work in an ED setting and to float within scope as needed
- Unit details to note: 38-bed ED; patient population Neonates–Geriatrics; typical visits ~127/day
- Compliance notes: screening for required skills recommended; valid SSN and DOB required at submittal
- Scheduling: Weekend requirement every 3rd weekend; On-call not required
- Vaccines: Flu vaccination required (exemptions for medical/religious reasons allowed); COVID-19 not required
- RTO: No RTO in the first week; maximum ~7 days RTO per 13-week contract (confirm specifics with recruiter)
- Local candidate restriction: No local candidates within 75-mile radius
