Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ER) is needed for a travel assignment in Utica, New York. Start date is May 26, 2026 for a 13-week assignment with guaranteed 36 hours per week. The night shift runs 2x3 blocks (2:30 PM – 3:00 AM; block scheduling not guaranteed). The ED is a hospital-based department with a 64-bed unit (2 triage, 40 acute, 6 super track, 2 trauma, 10 CDU, 6 psych). Local candidates within 75 miles are eligible for the local rate.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, bedside nursing care in a busy ED for adult and pediatric patients, including triage, assessments, monitoring, medication administration, IV therapy, and patient/family education.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the multidisciplinary team to implement treatment plans, respond to patient condition changes, and coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges; document in EPIC EMR.
- Manage common ED presentations (stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, respiratory failure) and operate unit equipment as needed (e.g., Rapid Infusor, Arctic Sun) while adhering to safety and infection-control standards.
- Float to support ED operations as assigned and participate in charge nurse activities when requested.
- Maintain compliance with licensure and certifications; ensure NY RN license remains active and verified (NURSYS) and uphold required certifications (ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC).
- Provide age-appropriate care for newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics, with attention to family-centered communication and discharge planning.

Requirements
- Active New York RN license with NURSYS verification
- 2+ years of ED nursing experience; some pediatric exposure
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ED and float to assigned areas as needed
- Up-to-date resume documenting ED experience and travel experience; valid driver’s license with address matching demographics
