Responsibilities
- Perform pediatric echocardiography exams (including neonatal and pediatric patients) with RDCS-PE or RCS-PE credentials; document findings and store images in the designated EMR
- Adapt scanning approaches for complex congenital heart disease, cardiac surgical repairs, and pediatric cardiac anatomy; assist with fetal echocardiography when available
- Work independently in high-acuity areas (NICU, PICU) while maintaining patient and family-centered care
- Collaborate with pediatric cardiology and ICU teams; communicate results clearly to physicians and families; ensure accurate labeling and archiving of images in EPIC
- Maintain equipment, adhere to infection control protocols, and ensure safety standards during examinations
- Participate in on-call coverage on weekends with the specified hours and maintain readiness to respond
Requirements
- Credentials: ARDMS or CCI credential in pediatric echocardiography (RDCS-PE or RCS-PE) required
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of independent pediatric echo scanning experience
- Special notes: Fetal echocardiography experience preferred
- Setting: Ability to scan independently in critical care environments (NICU, PICU)
- EMR: EPIC experience within the past 2 years required
- Certifications: BLS; Ultrasound Tech Certification Verification (equivalency) as applicable
- Additional: Must be able to work in a high-acuity pediatric care setting
