Responsibilities
- Perform pediatric echocardiography exams, including specialized imaging for congenital heart disease, with emphasis on image quality and accurate measurements.
- Independently scan in critical care environments (neonatal ICU, pediatric ICU) while applying family-centered care principles.
- Document findings and enter results into the electronic medical record (EPIC) and communicate with the pediatric cardiology team.
- Maintain equipment, quality control, and infection control standards; prepare and position patients and families for imaging sessions.
- Collaborate with the pediatric cardiology team to interpret studies and ensure timely reporting; assist with fetal echocardiography when applicable.
- Participate in on-call weekend coverage as scheduled, maintaining prompt response and on-site arrival within 30 minutes of call.
Requirements
- ARDMS or CCI credential in pediatric echocardiography (RDCS-PE or RCS-PE) required.
- Minimum of 3 years of independent pediatric echocardiography experience.
- EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years required.
- BLS certification; Ultrasound Tech Certification Verification (or equivalency) required.
- Must be able to work in a hospital setting, including neonatal and pediatric ICU environments, with the ability to participate in weekend on-call rotations.
- Current ultrasound license/credential as required by the state and facility.
