Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized nursing care for adult patients with implanted cardiac devices in an EP lab/outpatient setting.
- Perform and support device management tasks for CRM devices (pacemakers, ICDs, implanted loop recorders) with emphasis on patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Interrogate, troubleshoot, and assist with device testing and programming under the guidance of the electrophysiology team.
- Monitor patient rhythms, stabilize arrhythmias as needed, and maintain cardiovascular physiology knowledge during procedures and post-procedure care.
- Maintain sterile technique, adhere to protocols, and document care and device data accurately in the electronic medical record (EPIC or equivalent).
- Provide patient and caregiver education on device function, post-procedure care, and follow-up requirements; communicate findings with the EP team.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Pacemaker/ICD Technician program or equivalent job experience
- EPIC experience within the last 2 years
- Knowledge of cardiac rhythm management, cardiac devices, and cardiovascular physiology
- Ability to work in an EP lab/outpatient setting and manage adult (18+) patient population
