Occupational Therapist – Acute Care in Alameda, California, United States. This is a travel, temporary assignment starting 08/03/2026 for 13 weeks. Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services to patients within an acute care–level performance framework in a skilled care setting.
- Assess patients’ physical, cognitive, and functional abilities; develop individualized treatment plans focused on activities of daily living, mobility, safety, and discharge goals.
- Implement therapy interventions, including therapeutic activities, assistive device training, gait and balance work, and adaptive equipment instruction.
- Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the patient record; communicate progress with the multidisciplinary team and families as appropriate.
- Participate in goal setting, progress reassessment, and discharge planning; educate patients and caregivers on home programs and safety techniques.
- Maintain safety and infection control standards; ensure equipment is properly used and cared for; collaborate with nursing and therapy colleagues to optimize patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Active Occupational Therapist license in California
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Ability to provide services in a skilled nursing facility environment
- Willingness to participate in a travel-based assignment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Eligibility to work in the United States
