Registered Nurse – Observation Unit, Atlanta, Georgia. Travel, temporary assignment starting 10/05/2026 for 14 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,340–$2,403 per week with guaranteed 48 hours per week. Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to observation unit patients with varying acuity; monitor vitals, assess and respond to changes, administer medications as prescribed, and collaborate with the care team.
- Manage patient flow within the unit, including admissions, transfers, discharges, and patient education on care plans and discharge instructions.
- Document accurately and timely in electronic medical records; ensure quality handoffs during shift change.
- Maintain patient safety and infection control practices; initiate and follow through on orders, monitoring, and escalation as needed.
- Adhere to BLS, ACLS, and PALS requirements; participate in ongoing competency activities; TNCC is preferred.
- Communicate effectively with ED staff and other units; be prepared to float to other areas of competency as indicated.
Requirements
- Experience: minimum 2 years of RN experience in an acute care setting, with exposure to observation-type patient populations.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; TNCC preferred.
- Shift and assignment: ability to work night shifts on a travel assignment; comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and floating to other areas of competency as needed.
- Additional: must be able to function effectively within a 28-bed inpatient observation unit near the ED and support unit throughput.
