Overview

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to ED patients across age groups, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
- Perform triage, initial assessment, ongoing monitoring, and rapid escalation of patient conditions as needed.
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and assist with procedures commonly performed in the ED; participate in rapid response and code situations.
- Document assessments, treatments, and patient education in the EMR (EPIC); ensure accurate and timely charting across shifts.
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and other team members to coordinate patient care; participate in patient and family education and discharge planning.
- Floating to related ED areas as needed; maintain unit readiness and contribute to a high-quality, patient-centered environment.

Requirements
- Licenses: Current New York RN license; NURSYS verification of active NY license and all RN licenses; address on license must match demographics; RTO (requested time off) must be included at submission.
- Certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC; TNCC must be in hand.
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of ED experience with some pediatric experience; travel experience documented in resume.
- EMR: EPIC experience required.
- Additional: Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics; floating capability; charge nurse capability is highly preferred.
