Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive speech-language evaluations for adult and geriatric residents and develop individualized plans of care.
- Provide evidence-based interventions for communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders, aligned with the plan of care.
- Monitor progress, document outcomes, and adjust treatment strategies in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Conduct bedside swallow evaluations when appropriate, implement therapy, and educate patients and families on maintenance and discharge planning.
- Ensure timely, accurate documentation in the patient record and adherence to facility policies and infection control practices.
Requirements
- Ability to provide speech-language pathology services in a skilled nursing/acute care setting for adult and geriatric populations
- Strong assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills
- Effective collaboration with an interdisciplinary team and clear communication with patients and families
- Eligibility to work in the United States
