Travel Registered Nurse ICU Job
Registered Nurse – ICU (Travel) in Rochester, NY. Start date 07/06/2026 for 13 weeks, 12-hour shifts in a hospital ICU/stepdown unit. Weekly pay range $2,008–$2,099. Guaranteed hours not guaranteed. This position involves rotating D/E/N shifts with weekends, holidays, on-call, and callback as unit needs.

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive direct patient care for high-acuity neuro and neurosurgery patients in the stepdown/PCU, under the direction of the Nurse Manager.
- Perform frequent neuro assessments (Q1 checks) and manage telemetry monitoring; respond to changes in patient status promptly.
- Manage complex neurology-focused devices and therapies, including EVDs, lumbar drains, subdural drains, arterial lines, VP shunts, carotid endarterectomy care, aneurysm clipping/coiling, and deep brain stimulation procedures as applicable.
- Administer and titrate critical medications such as 3% normal saline and Cardene drips; implement seizure precautions; monitor for and respond to neurologic and hemodynamic changes.
- Assume charge nurse, preceptor, or committee responsibilities as assigned; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in rounding, documentation, and care coordination.
Requirements
- Licensure: active NY Registered Nurse license
- Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) required
- Experience: minimum 2 years in stepdown/PCU with high-acuity telemetry experience; must have stepdown experience
- Neuro/critical care: must have high-acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience; telemetry experience required
- Additional: ACLS highly desired; NIHSS preferred
- Special competencies: experience with Q1 neuro checks, EVDs, lumbar drains, subdural drains, 3% NS and Cardene drips, arterial lines, carotid endarterectomy, aneurysm coil/clips, DBS insertion, VP shunts, seizures
- Eligibility: NY-only RN license; ability to work in a hospital ICU/stepdown environment and rotate shifts as required
