Responsibilities
- Carry out COTA-performed interventions under supervision of the licensed occupational therapist, following the plan of care
- Implement therapy activities and modalities to address residents’ goals for function, ROM, strength, and activities of daily living
- Monitor resident responses, document progress, and communicate changes to the supervising OT
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, PT, social services, and family) to optimize outcomes
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record and ensure compliance with privacy and safety standards
- Educate residents and, when appropriate, care partners about tasks, adaptive strategies, and equipment use
Requirements
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification
- Ability to work in a long-term care setting
- Availability for a 13-week travel assignment with 36 hours per week
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Physical ability to perform duties within a LTC environment and meet resident needs
