Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following physician orders and patient care plans
- Monitor resident health status, document changes, and report concerns promptly to the supervising RN
- Perform basic nursing procedures, wound care, and routine assessments as assigned
- Assist residents with activities of daily living while promoting safety, dignity, and comfort
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the electronic medical record; ensure timely communication with the care team
- Respond to call lights, triage needs, and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team to adjust care plans
Requirements
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse license in New Mexico (in good standing)
- Current CPR certification (BLS) or as required by facility policy
- Ability to work a 3x12 night schedule and comply with shift rotations
- Experience in or willingness to work in a long-term care/geriatric setting
- Completion of an approved practical nursing education program
- Competence in basic nursing procedures and resident safety in a skilled nursing care environment
