Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to collect case history.
- Plan and provide nursing care for patients; administer psychotropic medications and monitor responses.
- Make nursing diagnoses and collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to design appropriate treatment plans.
- Administer medications, document reactions, and arrange further medical attention when necessary.
- Maintain a safe, secure environment; monitor for safety and de-escalation; manage pain as indicated.
- Document all patient information in medical records, maintain confidentiality, and complete progress notes; perform routine administrative tasks (filing, phones, computer entries).
Requirements
- Active New York RN license
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
- CPI Certification
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Inpatient behavioral health experience preferred
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays; on-call/callback as required
