Responsibilities
- Deliver direct, patient-centered nursing care for Med Surg in accordance with the nursing process and established standards.
- Assess data, formulate a care plan, implement interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Administer medications, monitor responses, and manage IV therapy as appropriate.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other disciplines to coordinate care and ensure a safe, healing environment.
- Supervise and direct activities of licensed and support staff; delegate tasks appropriately and supervise assigned personnel.
- Participate in discharge planning, provide patient and family education, and document care in the electronic health record (EPIC).
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of California (or state of practice)
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification required
- Minimum two years of recent Med Surg experience in an acute care setting
- EPIC experience preferred
- BSN is preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced Med/Surg environment and meet assignment requirements
