Responsibilities
- Perform tests requiring limited skill and responsibility under the supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor, Manager, or Laboratory Director; exercise independent judgment minimally as competency is demonstrated.
- Maintain accuracy in in-patient results, quality assurance, proficiency testing, and competency assessments.
- Apply clinical and theoretical knowledge to analyze, investigate, interpret, and report laboratory data.
- Maintain current personal training, education, and practice of policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills to optimize time, materials, and data handling, ensuring availability of lab data and controlling costs.
- Communicate effectively with team members, monitor data, resolve issues, and hand off information as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the laboratory setting.
Requirements
- Ability to work in a hospital-based laboratory setting.
- Willingness to work a night-shift schedule (3x12 hours) for a travel assignment.
- Demonstrated competency in performing clinical laboratory tests under supervision with the potential to apply independent judgment as competency develops.
- Strong attention to accuracy in patient results and in quality assurance activities.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and report laboratory data with clear, accurate documentation.
- Commitment to ongoing training and adherence to laboratory policies and procedures.
