The OR team seeks a skilled RN who can circulate across multiple service lines in a short-term acute care setting. This travel assignment requires the ability to float to ancillary units when needed, with on-call coverage possible during the assignment. Orientation is provided to help you integrate quickly into the perioperative team.

- Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital with multiple service lines
Responsibilities
- Circulate during perioperative cases across orthopedic, general surgery, urology, ENT, GI, spine, ophthalmology, and podiatry procedures
- Maintain sterile technique, manage instrument readiness, counts, and overall OR workflow
- Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers; monitor patient status and safety throughout the procedure
- Float to other units as needed; coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team and ensure smooth handoffs
- Provide patient and family education regarding perioperative care, expectations, and recovery processes
- Adhere to infection prevention and safety protocols; document perioperative care and patient outcomes
Requirements
- Active New York State Registered Professional Nurse license
- 2 years of OR experience; OR circulator experience required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS (through AHA/RQI); stroke certification preferred
- Ability to work in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital environment and to float to multiple service lines
- Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability; ability to work independently as the sole OR RN on call when required
