Responsibilities
- Administers ionizing irradiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from department physicians.
- Position and immobilize patients to ensure accurate and safe delivery of therapy.
- Operate treatment delivery equipment and verify treatment parameters per established protocols.
- Confirm patient identity, treatment site, and equipment setup with the care team prior to each treatment.
- Document treatment delivery, patient response, and any deviations; communicate with the radiation oncology team.
- Follow radiation safety standards and quality control procedures to protect patients and staff.
Requirements
- Active California license to practice Radiation Therapy.
- Certification as Radiation Therapist (e.g., ARRT RT) or as required by state guidelines.
- Degree in Radiation Therapy (AS or BS) from an accredited program.
- 1 year of clinical radiation therapy experience preferred.
- Ability to work in an acute care, fast-paced setting.
- Basic safety and teamwork skills; strong communication with the care team.
