Responsibilities
- Operates computed tomography (CT) equipment, producing cross-sectional images of bones, organs, and tissue used to diagnose medical conditions.
- Performs a variety of imaging procedures not limited to CT, including general radiography and fluoroscopy as needed.
- Positions patients and selects exposure factors to achieve diagnostic-quality images while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Monitors patient condition during procedures, communicates findings to supervising clinicians, and adheres to safety and infection control protocols.
- Maintains equipment and document procedures, quality control checks, and image storage according to department policies.
Requirements
- Active radiologic technologist credential with CT capabilities and eligibility for CA licensure as required by state regulations.
- CT certification (ARRT) or equivalent credential preferred.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification.
- CT imaging experience; prior hospital-based imaging exposure is beneficial.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced imaging environment with flexible, varied shifts and rotating schedules.
- Must be able to collaborate with clinicians, radiologists, and support staff to deliver timely, accurate imaging services.
