Travel Registered Nurse Acute Care Job
Registered Nurse – Acute Care (Emergency Department) in Penn Yan, New York, United States. Start date: 05/25/2026 for a 14-week travel assignment. Weekly pay: $2,026–$2,150 per week. Guaranteed hours: not guaranteed. Shift: 3x12 rotating (days or nights) with weekend and holiday rotations in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities
- Perform triage assessment and identify urgent vs non-urgent care needs; establish initial priorities and communicate with the care team.
- Conduct primary and secondary assessments, document findings, monitor patient status, and adjust care plan as condition evolves.
- Administer prescribed medications and therapies; perform invasive and non-invasive procedures within scope; monitor responses and side effects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team; educate patients and families; prepare patients for procedures and assist with discharge planning and referrals.
- Maintain infection prevention practices and patient safety; sustain a healing environment; provide updates to patients and families throughout ED care.
- Document care and transitions of care; ensure accurate handoffs and continuity of care across shifts.
Requirements
- Active New York State Registered Nurse license
- Board certifications/competencies: BLS, ACLS, PALS; NIHSS
- Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI) required
- Two (2) years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Ability to work 3x12 rotating shifts, including days and nights; weekend and holiday coverage; on-call as scheduled
