Responsibilities
- Deliver prescribed respiratory therapies (nebulized medications, airway clearance, oxygen therapy, and related modalities) and adjust treatments under physician orders.
- Set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot ventilators and related respiratory equipment; document patient response and modify therapy per protocol.
- Assess patients’ respiratory status, participate in rounds, and communicate changes to the care team.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance, ensure infection control standards, and document care accurately in the patient record.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other therapists to develop and implement comprehensive care plans; respond to respiratory emergencies as part of the patient care team.
- Maintain current certifications and licensure while abiding by hospital policies and state regulations.

Requirements
- Hawaii Respiratory Therapy license (active)
- NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Current BLS/HCP, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
- Three (3) years of full-time RT experience, with a minimum of two (2) years in acute care across adults, children, and newborns
- All licenses and certifications must be valid through the duration of the initial contract
- Compliance processes completed no later than 10 days prior to the contract start date
- Current Nursys verification included with submissions
- Ability to work in a rotating AM/PM schedule in a hospital setting
- Travel eligibility and ability to work in Kamuela, Hawaii

- Rate bid submission is required; Hawaii residents may be considered but traveler-rate pay is not guaranteed for all applicants
- If RN staffing needs vary, there may be non-RN assignments (e.g., nursing assistant or safety sitter) as part of unit coverage
